From walking and picnicking to challenging friends to disc golf, Fairfield offers a variety of recreational and outdoor activities for all ages. Leo French Park

Leo French Park, the largest in the entire county, has baseball diamonds, basketball court, picnic shelters and an Olympic size swimming pool. Situated on rolling wooded acreage, it features a small lake that is home for many geese, ducks and swans that enjoy treats brought to them by visitors. The lake is also surrounded by a paved walking path. During the Christmas Holiday Season, the park is the location for Fairfield’s Festival of Lights.
Lakeside Park

Lakeside Park offers lighted tennis courts, baseball fields, sand volleybal, playgrounds and a picnic shelter.
Love of Mike Park

The Love of Mike Park offers a basketball court, playground and a covered picnic shelter.
Bob & Maxine Wood Park

The Bob & Maxine Park offers a disc golf course of mostly wide open holes which are great for beginners! There are also a few wooded ones to help test and grow your skills! This family friendly recreation level course is perfect for beginner to intermediate players.

The Sam & Florence Atkinson Forest is an Illinois State Habitat area that offers hiking and walking trails.

Pickleball Players of Wayne County

This group is informal rec play and consists of a variety of skill levels. Beginners are always welcome, and the more advanced player can probably find a competitive game. They play at the Community of Christ Church Family Life Center, Windsor Lane, in Fairfield, Illinois. Each player is asked to contribute $2 at the door. They play Tuesdays and Thursdays 4:30-7:30 PM and Saturday mornings 8:30-11:30.
Sam Dale Lake Conservation Area

Gently rolling terrain, lush woods and a beautiful lake make the Sam Dale Lake State Conservation Area the perfect spot for outdoor adventure. This 1,302-acre park is located northwest of Johnsonville in Wayne County and it has something for everyone: hiking, fishing, hunting, picnicking and more.
